Project Summary

FACOS designed the electronic system for a fleet of fully electric orchard carts, used for fruit harvesting in professional orchards.
The goal was to ensure full-day autonomy, easy charging, and quiet operation between the rows.

Background

In fruit harvesting, vehicles must be lightweight, compact, and capable of navigating narrow tree rows, operating for many hours without interruption.
Traditional combustion carts are often polluting, noisy, and oversized.
Electrification improved productivity, while also enhancing environmental sustainability and operator comfort.

E-DRIVE800 → compact digital drive, air-cooled

BatteryPack LiFePO₄ – 48V / 100Ah → modular battery with self-heating function

EPM800 → safety and energy management module, with integrated DC-DC converter

CAN interface for electronic control and real-time diagnostics
