Electra – Fully Electric Self-Propelled Feeder for Livestock Farming

Sector: Agriculture / Animal Husbandry

End Client: Supertino Srl
Project Summary
FACOS contributed to the development of Electra, a fully electric self-propelled mixer feeder, designed for feed distribution in intensive livestock farms.
The vehicle was engineered to operate in indoor environments, ensuring zero emissions, reduced energy consumption, and low noise for both workers and animals.
In 2020, the new version Electra 2 was also launched, featuring an upgraded battery pack designed to ensure greater operational autonomy.
Background
Livestock feeding machines often operate in closed barns, where exhaust fumes and engine noise are major issues.
The client needed a fully electric solution that could replace the diesel version while maintaining the same operational efficiency with lower environmental impact.
Client Requirements
- Eliminate harmful emissions inside barns
- Reduce noise to protect animal welfare
- Maintain diesel-equivalent work efficiency
- Ensure full-day autonomy
- Enable easy charging from single-phase grid
